Ego Brain

It seems to be a fact; I can't go more than a few months without Photosopping something up.
If I leave it too long I start to get the shakes and feel like I'm going to power chuck everywhere. Yuck!
So the last couple of days I've been working on this piece of crappy artwork:

If you're a fool and don't know, its inspired by part of the song 'Ego Brain', by System of A Down.
It's my interoperation though so if you don't understand, don't fret. You just might see the song in a different way to me.

TAFEing All Over The World!

That title was suppose to sound like that ELO song, you kno... forget it.

When I was travailing abroad I still had TAFE work to do as the holiday cut straight into the end bit of the certificate, which can be the nastiest as that's when you have to do all the main assignments.
So after getting my lecturers blessing, I packed up my laptop and my tablet and set off on my worldly adventure.
The following set of pictures showcase some of the different places where I had to do my work, some of them were quite cramped...

It started off easy in Bali, I had a huge limestone desk all to myself.
It should be noted that laser mouses don't work on limestone so I had to buy a mouse pad. It took me ages to find one, I didn't think that it would be so hard. I ended up with a Disney Micky The Mouse one as it was all I could find, I'm still using it to this second :)

This was a bit more cramped but it wasn't the worst. Considering how small some of the French cottages I saw were, I'm counting my lucky stars that I got any space at all.

This was while working in a car which was probably the hardest. Every time you went around one of Frances millions of roundabouts, you had to hold on to everything.

This was another cruisey work space in a hotel. I only got to work here for one night though.

The last one was a kitchen table. While it worked well I had to move everything whenever it was meal time.

This last picture was taken on the flight home when all my work was completed. Typical that these seats had powerpoints in them, could of used them when I actually had work to do on a plane!
I just played Seven Days A Skeptic instead ;)

I hope to never have to do work on holiday again.

More Abandoned Photography

I can't say there is much to explore and photograph in Perth that's abandoned (and what there is will probably get you stabbed and then mugged) so I don't get the chance to do this as much as I would like.
Luckily for me though I'm currently on holiday in France, staying with friends in the country side. Next door to their cottage is an abandoned one.
Photo time.
Here are some sample shots, but please check out the whole post here which has been posted to a abandoned photography Live Journal group. Cheers.

Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas Multiplain

Considering that TAFE is taking up all my time and making projects like Delta 9 and Future City Above Flooded World die, I thought I mind as well fill this blog up with some TAFE work. Its all graphics.
This was my first Adobe Flash assignment, in which we had to use multiplains. I based it off Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas which is a totally awesome movie and an even awesomer book. Here is a trailer if you haven't seen it. After watching that and reading this, go watch the movie or read the book. They're total awesomeness.

Abandoned Photography

For ages I've always been fascinated by photos of abandoned stuff. Dunno why, but I've always just found it cool to see what happens to places when Nature gets its way.
For a while I've been following this Live Journal community called Abandoned Places. Its a pretty big community, with different people posting amazing photography there everyday. I'm no amazing photographer but I thought I would have a crack at it, and to my surprise the feedback was quite good. Please check out my full post here. Its photos of an area which include the remains of a train station, the station masters house and also another house right in the Australian bush.

Here are some sample shots:

Tyler Durden Wallpaper

I was listening to the Fight Club soundtrack and I had a sudden urge to Photoshop something related, especially Tyler Durden related.
He is one of my all time favourite characters, I actually started taking Brad Pitt seriously as an actor after seeing Fight Club.
If you have never seen Fight Club, I highly recommend you stop playing with yourself and watch it right now.

New Mirror's Edge still in the works :D

This blog isn't one for referring other websites, but I just had to post this.
You may remember when I posted my love for the game Mirror's Edge and its individuality among all the generic first person shooters, well I just read a IGN post that is confirming a squeal is still being worked on.
They say one of the main reasons why its taking so long is because while it was criticality acclaimed, it didn't make as much money as anticipated because it didn't draw a big enough audience.
So while I can't get everyone to play and like it, I'm going to refer it anyway to the small audience that follows this blog. Trust me, its an awesome game and you can probably pick it up quite cheap now second hand.
Its a lot better than all the FPS's out there that rely on action to sell. Just be warned that its kinda short (something I hope that will be fixed in the sequel) but the re-playability is huge.

TAFE

Been a bit lazy with current projects right now, but for good reason.
This semester I've started TAFE, which is a college in Australia. I'm doing Cert 3 in Media (digital) and its awesome. Programs I'm using include Flash, Dreamweaver and Gamemaker.
Unfortunately it will probably mean that projects like Delta 9 might suffer a little, but in turn I will churn out some TAFE stuff.
The teachers, computers and just the campus as a whole is brilliant. I would certainly recommend this to a friend.
